An Effective Diet Plan for Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition that has baffled researchers for many years because its cause is not known and there is no one cure for the condition – cures can vary from person to person. It’s symptoms include burning sensations, painful itching and reddening of the face. Researchers have cited various factors causes of this disease and one predominant cause is certain diets that trigger the disease.

If you suffer from Rosacea you should by all means avoid food and drink that can aggravate the condition.  Here we will discuss some of those food and drink that can reduce or maybe cure your Rosacea for good. You should take only those drinks, beverages and foods that are recommended.

An effective diet is one that is low in acid and high in alkaline.   Here are some things you should keep in mind:

TAKE a lot of FRUITS and VEGETABLES: Fruits and vegetables are top on the list of recommended diets, including one of Rosacea. They act as antioxidants and provide natural detoxification for the body.  They are very important in getting rid of the body’s free radicals. They are also very good immunity boosters.   It is important to note that the processed juice should not be taken as substitute or alternative for the fruits and vegetables. You are advised to take as many fresh and unprocessed fruits and vegetables every day.

DRINK a lot of Alkaline water: Water is very important for your good health.  You should ensure that you take at least 8 glasses of 8 ounces everyday and this is especially true for those with Rosacea.  The alkaline water prevents the dehydration and neutralizes the acidity that is believed to aggravate Rosacea symptoms such as flushing.

AVOID Acidic foods: Acidic foods are  among the proscribed Rosacea diets and they include grains (except quinoa and millet), crackers, coffee, spicy foods cereals, breads, seafood, oils, eggs,  vinegar, cake, alcoholic drinks, foods that are cooked in oils, meat, tofu, sugar, salt,  pastas, seeds, nuts, etc.  These foods are proven to increase the flushing and they have even been cited by researchers as possible causes of the condition.

AVOID Dairy products and other fatty foods: the foods that are high in trans-fats or cholesterol should not be taken  they cause atherosclerosis whereby cholesterol and fats are deposited in the body arteries leading to their thickening. The atherosclerosis interferes with free circulation of blood and functioning of heart.   The fats can also increase the damage of the blood vessels in Rosacea – a condition referred to as telangiectasia.

TAKE whole grains and unprocessed foods:  You should take only salad green, vegetable, fresh fruits, potatoes, lima beans, raw cider vinegar, sprouts, quinoa, millet, citrus fruits, etc.  The foods should be low in fats, high in fiber and low in salts. The fruits and vegetables are among the best sources of fiber.

TAKE a lot of vitamins and other vital body nutrients: the minerals and vitamin supplements are recommended. Because Rosacea cannot be cured, the best way of dealing with it is by boosting the body immunity in order to fight of the Rosacea symptoms naturally.
